Fiddlesticks takes the stage at The Royal Room
7:30pm, Sunday May 17, 2026
With special guest artists: Klezmer violin specialist Mae Kessler & cellist Nick Chrisman
Directed by Shulamit Kleinerman
Students ages 10 to teen light up the stage with rock-solid yet joyfully raucous ensemble settings of klezmer favorites. Skilled older teens shine with violin and piano solos. Guest artists Mae Kessler and Nick Chrisman take center stage with Fiddlesticks director Shulamit Kleinerman for the pathos of an orignal Dobranotsh by Steven Greenman, the mesmerizing enchantment of a Terkisher from Misha Ziganoff, and the unbridled joy of an old-world Sher made famous on Greenman's 2000 Smithsonian Folkways album Khevrisa.
